Leysin American School
hi everyone...i was searching for this under livejournal interests...livejournal is such a small world! anyways, my aunt-in-law and uncle-in-law own LAS. (my cousin married their son, marc-fredrich. i dont know if you know him or not.) they offered my sister and i jobs there over the summer, so i'm wondering if i should work there or not. what's it like? i live in america, so it'd be a long time overseas. i was recently in london, though, and loved it. are people nice? |
okay. enough questions. HELP! :)
you are related to the Otts?? hmmm well I would go back to LAS in a heart beat... i loved it there and switzerland is amazing.
I wanted to get a summer job there last summer but wasnt able to.
summer will fly by, and it wont seem that long really. it is expensive though.
people can be nice
yes! they are such nice people. we've only been related for like two years, and i've never met them, but we talk through emails and such. my sister lives in germany, so she's been to see them a few times.
anyways, i think i'm going to do it. thanks for the advice!!! :)
Summers at LAS are the best. The school year has its good sides, but the summer is when the students and teachers can relate to each other, the weather is beautiful, the excursions are a blast, and the students are extra cool because they WANT to be there, not because they have to be.
My summer in Switzerland is what made me go during the academic semesters. I must reiterate that the summer and school years are completely different worlds, but it would be worth your while to go for the summer, definitely.
are there people from all different countries there? or are the students mostly american? what are the excursions? like field trips?
Go for it, even if it's not amazing it'll still be an experience. I'm kinda thinking about eventually working there for a year.
awesome. thanks :)
what a cute dog!!!!
hey.... i currently go to LAS, and i must say, the summer program is supposedly the best time to be in Leysin. It's a small town about an hour from the closest city that has anything interesting, two from geneva. In summer there are trips to france and italy and maybe others for a week, as well as the actual camp/school time. i'm hoping to be in leysin over the summer too, and i;ve heard nothinig but good things.
